“Ca tru” (also known as “hat a đao” or “hat noi”) is an ancient genre of chamber music featuring female vocalists, with origins in northern Vietnam. In the 15th century “Ca tru “ spread through Northern Vietnam, became a kind of entertainment combining entertaining wealthy people as well as performing religious songs for the royal court.
“Ca tru “is inscribed on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009. Ca tru is popular and widely affected to 16 provinces and cities in the Northern Viet Nam, including Quang Binh.
To bring “Ca tru” Quang Binh to populace, Phong Nha Ke Bang Tourism center in cooperation with Ca tru Dong Duong club of Quang Trach District will take place to perform this unique art form at Chay River- Dark Cave on weekly Saturday, Sunday.
After discovering Dark Cave, tourists will enjoy excellent art show performed by “Ca tru” artiste in ancient house as well as Gia Hung traditional wine speciality.
“Ca tru” performances at Dark Cave will be held on an annual off-season starting from 27, August, 2016.
