Illegal transport endangered, precious and rare animals in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park

After getting news, Hoa Son FPS (belongs to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National FPD) coordinated with Hoa Son inter-sectoral forest rangers to check a local resident who was involved in illegally transporting wild animals from Hoa Sơn commune to Da Nang hamlet (area of Hoa Hop commune, Minh Hoa district) for consumption on the morning of November 30 2017.

Hoa Son inter-sectoral forest rangers successfully stopped the motorbike with the number plate 73N5-4306, driven by Dinh Van Tuy, was born in 1988, living in Tang Hoa hamlet, Hoa Son commune, Minh Hoa district and detected two dead individual of wild animals concealed in a white sack with 15kg.

According to initial identification of Hoa Son inter-sectoral forest rangers, both individuals are Hatinh langur (Trachypithecus hatinhensis), which are endangered, rare and precious wildlife species of group IB as stipulated in the Government’s Decree No.160/2013/NĐ-CP dated on November 12th 2013. He can not produce documents proving the legal origin of these two animals so inter-sectoral forest rangers have subsequently made the minutes, seized the mean, the evidence and transferred all to Minh Hoa district’s FPD for further investigation in accordance with current legal regulations./.
