Tourists to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in the first day of 2013
Among 100 tourists to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park are more than 50 international tourists from U.S, France, the Netherlands and Australia and many domestic tourists from Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chairman Tran Tien Dung expressed his pleasure and warmly greeted the first tourists to Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park in the first day of 2013.
Vice Chairman stressed that 2013 is the year that Quang Binh will mark the 10th anniversary of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park recognized as a world national heritage site and celebrate the Quang Binh Cave Festival.
In order to uphold the values of heritage, in the future, the Management Board of the Park should improve the quality of tourist services to build Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park into an attractive destination to international and domestic tourists, Vice Chairman asked.
In 2012, the total number of tourists to Quang Binh was estimated reaching 1,045,000 people, up 8% against 2011, of which, international arrivals reached over 12,000 tourists. A total turnover from tourism was estimated reaching over VND1,175 billion, up 18.4% compared to 2011. Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park alone greeted more than 275,600 tourists, of which over 10,200 international tourists, up 8.4% compared to 2011.
Quang Binh aims to welcome over 1.2 million tourists in 2013.
